The Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) has issued a warning to travellers planning to visit Sri Lanka.
In the alert, the SLTDA warns potential visitors to Sri Lanka to be wary of fraudulent websites pretending to be travel and immigration services offering Sri Lankan visas.
It emphasizes that eta.gov.lk/slvisa is the sole official website for obtaining a visa to go to Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka has seen a huge surge in tourist arrivals in December 2021, as the island nation seeks to revitalize its tourism business, which has been badly hindered by the Covid Pandemic.
According to the SLTDA, 69,941 tourists arrived in December from the 1st to the 26th, representing a 36% increase from November 2021.
